How to Use Grids and Columns in Figma for Organized Designs ?

Select a Frame

First, select the frame you want to apply a grid to. You can't add a layout grid without selecting a frame first.

Add a Layout Grid

In the right-hand Design panel, find the Layout Grid section and click the + icon. Figma will add a default 10px grid.

Open Grid Settings

Click the grid icon (nine dots) next to 'Grid' to open the Layout grid settings panel.

Switch to Columns

In the settings dropdown, change the grid type from Grid to Columns.

Adjust the settings to fit your design. Set the Count (e.g., 12), Margin (space on the sides), and Gutter (space between columns).
