How to Start Collaborating in a Figma File

1

Open Your Figma File

Navigate to the Figma file you want to collaborate on. You must be the file owner or have edit permissions to invite others.

2

Click the 'Share' Button

In the top-right corner of the toolbar, you'll find a blue Share button. Click on it to open the sharing modal.

3

Set Permissions

In the sharing modal, you can control access. Use the dropdown menu to choose between 'can view' and 'can edit' permissions. You can also set link access to 'Anyone with the link' or 'Only people invited to this file'.

4

Invite Your Team

You can either enter the email addresses of your collaborators in the input field or click Copy link to share it directly via chat or email. Invited users will receive a notification.

5

Collaborate in Real Time

Once your teammates join the file, you'll see their avatars and named cursors moving around the canvas in real time. You can now design, comment, and edit together simultaneously.
