How to Wrap Text in Google Sheets

Select Your Cell(s)

Click on the cell or drag your cursor to select a range of cells containing the text you want to wrap.

Open the Format Menu

Navigate to the main menu at the top of the screen and click on Format.

Hover Over 'Text wrapping'

In the dropdown menu, move your cursor over the Text wrapping option to reveal a sub-menu.

Click 'Wrap'

From the sub-menu, select Wrap. The text in your selected cell(s) will now automatically adjust to fit within the column width by creating multiple lines.

Use the Toolbar Shortcut

For faster access, select your cells and click the Text wrapping icon (an arrow bending over lines) in the toolbar, then choose Wrap.

To control exactly where a line breaks, double-click in the cell and press Ctrl + Enter (or Cmd + Enter on Mac).

Adjust Vertical Alignment

After wrapping text, you might want to change the vertical alignment to Top or Middle for better readability. Find this option in the toolbar, usually next to the text wrapping icon.
